Default LS(very big) 350z take 4????

I've decided not to sell the car as of today. =) I also decided that I don't want the turbo anymore. Its too much for daily driving and the car turned into more of a chore than a pleasure. I've put too much money into the car at this point to let it go for pennies so I've decided to keep it and go back to NA/nitrous. The plans are as follows:

418 cubic inch LS3 block with small bore LS7 heads/NA cam, a bunch of nitrous, and changing pretty much everything. My car was so much fun NA and nitrous the first time around when it was only making 398/503 NA/Nitrous. This time around with the heads/cam combo it should make around 600whp on engine alone..+ a 200 shot of nitrous =). Im going to be making the car much more street friendly as well. Im ditching the external monster pump in favor of Cjs twin 255s, putting heat and AC back in the car, and doing some other minor things like putting a nice radio back in the car(one I can actually hear) The car should still make close to 800whp with nitrous and to be honest, it will be a much more usuable HP which in turn should make the car faster...and ill be dropping the extra 300lbs I gained bringing my car back to around 3100lbs where it was last time it was NA. Ill be posting the build here slowly (I know its not FI, but this is the only section I ever post in)..and well..nitrous is sort of an FI setup lol.

Haha, I love the “I’ve put so much money into my car that I can’t sell it, so I’ll just put more money into it…” logic (I was recently at that point too, lol). GL man!

Glad you're keeping the car! Can't wait to see the finished product. Why didn't you go for a vortech tvs2300? Those are very street able blowers for the LS.

Glad to see you keep the car. Sounds like a fun project and you know what you want to do... Good luck...

My car had trouble hooking on 2.3psi of boost with the turbo...a TVS would be even worse in the first few gears.

this is a complete question and not a bash so do'nt take it the wrong way.

if 2.3 psi on a turbo with "lag" how is it going to hook with the instant huge tq gained from nitrous?

american engines automagically allow you to have more traction because they are a drag racing pedigree

Glad to hear Snyper! I'm going to need someone to compete with for fastest LS 350z as I'm hoping to be in the low tens very soon!

Because the turbo went from lag to spin with no in between. I can control the power with the pedal with an NA setup and the power can come on as smooth and gradual as I like which will give my drag radials a nice chance to hook instead of shocking them with an instant 400+whp like it used to.

I was thinking about going automatic but I want a car that I can have too much fun with again lol. And you need to go 9s. 10s has already been done(on a stock block, suspension, and axles) =P

Don't worry, 9's will be in the works for next year with low 10's being my goal this season.

Hmm.. interesting.. sure hope this doesnt happen to me.
At least i have ridiculous large tires to help w the traction... some days im excited, others im scared.. no clue what ive gotten myself into....guess ill know soon enuff.

either way...this is the first ive read of someone disliking the turbos.. nice to hear the other side of the coin.

He had such a large turbo on a motor almost double the size of ours! I think you will be fine! I am very excited to see how the new motor turns out

v8 with 88mm turbo isn't even in the same class as a 3.5L with a medium turbo.

i see. One of my friends has a 383 heads, cams, and borg warner 88mm turbo on it at 7psi....his 325 mickey's have no problems keeping traction so it's odd that only 2.3psi of yours is having so much trouble. That's around like 600hp?
