I did searches and whatnot before posting this and couldn't exactly find what I was looking for. There's alot of different stuff for different applications.
My clutch in my stock 07 HR daily driver is starting to slip so I would like to replace it. I'm not exactly sure what clutch would be the best to replace it with. I see the JWT clutch/flywheel combo is very popular. I also read that the slave cylinder? should be upgraded aswell as it doesn't work well with aftermarket clutches. What all should I replace when I get this done? When I press the clutch pedal in and out I feel a very slight grinding feeling. Is there a bearing I should replace?
Sorry I don't have much experience or knowledge with clutches, that's why I need some help! Thanks

i own the jim wolf, for 4 years amazing, no issues, stock slave... stainless agency power clutch line. 700 for the clutch and flywheel. people complain that it chatters, get over it. its the 350z sound youll come to know.
I got a 07 ZR, i purchased a southbend stage 2, with single mass lightened flywheel (23#) and a upgraded CSC (with stainless lines). it has the feel of a stock clutch but is way better in driveablitiy. i got the whole set up from cuztompartz. their the only ones with an upgraded CSC.
Nice meeting you yesterday and enjoy the intakes.
You have two options.
1) Get OEM clutch and CSC
2) Get a HD CSC and pick from any of the billion aftermarket clutches on the market.
While you change out your clutch, you may also want to consider getting a new flywheel, pilot bearing, ss line, and rear main seal depending on the # of miles on your car.
The HD CSC is a more popular choice because it will enable you to use any clutch kit of any Z33 model year.* There is a thread in the VQ35HR subforum. You should give it a quick read. Some HR clutches were not designed properly (ie. HR JWT) and have caused the OEM CSC to fail.
JWT is certainly a more popular choice due to its stock like feel and price ($775 from IPP the last I checked).
It ultimately boils down to what you plan on doing with your car and how much money you are willing to spend. You can spend $800 on JWT and be done with it or spend 1.8k on a OS Giken Grand Sport Touring. Don't forget about used clutches in the marketplace too. There is also a Carbonetics twin disc in the marketplace going for a reasonable price.
Since you are local, I suggest you call Hill's Garage in Balitmore and speak with Frank. He'll be able to help you out better than anybody else.
* may want to double check with customerpartz

I got exactly what you got... 07 ZR w/ southbend stage 2, single mass flywheel, and HD CSC.
Funny.

That twin disc clutch... Someone told me that twin disc clutches aren't really recommended for daily drivers.
I just want a solid setup with something that is going to work. Just broke 40k miles and this clutch is pissing me off.

You will have to determine if it is the clutch or slave. Slave problems are generally peddle related: peddle gets stuck and will not return. Slip is clutch related: the friction surface will not hold the flywheel.
Proper diagnosis is essential. You do not want to replace one item when the other is at fault.

the ZR is the convertable version of the Z. i have the VQ35HR motor also. and this setup will work nice for you but you have to get the upgraded Concentric Slave Cylinder or you'll have nothing but problems after a while. the stock one doesnt have the power to handle a better than stock clutch.
