Default 2004 350Z clutch question

Dealer says the flywheel is type the do not resurface......How often when a clutch is changed (i have 65000 miles)(seems to be self ajusted all the way to the end) has the flywheel been bad???

clutch $1400
clutch and flywheel $2660

It is possible you need a new flywheel, but those prices are ridiculous! Our clutch/flywheel combo (lightweight flywheel) is only $659 with a SS clutch line, throw out bearing and pilot bushing. LINK

If the clutch is worn out but hasn't been abused, you can probably get away with using the original flywheel. Abuse would be letting the clutch slip for extended periods (which heats up the flywheel excessively) and letting the clutch disc wear down to where you have metal-to-metal contact and scoring of the flywheel. Both of these conditions will be obvious when you take the clutch apart, but knowing how you've treated the car will give you a clue on what to expect.
