i go 3,000 miles with Mobil1 and i like to drive hard so i want to keep my oil fresh but some say i baby cars. I started using Mobil1 after 1,000 miles and alot of people have a problem with that. Go to mobil1.com and read up and decide for yourself, in the end it's your car and you have to live with it.

i change mine when it is no longer gold in color, for mobil 1 5w30 that usually works out to around 4000 miles but can be longer, sometime as much as 5000 miles. I have 24k on the engine now.

You guys may want to research Royal Purple for problems with coaking/caking/foaming. We use Mobil One in our race cars and I use it in the Z. 10W30 in the summer and 5W30 in the winter.

don't know, got a good deal. I've seen dyno tests that it increased hp by 1.9 on a 4 cylinder and 8 on a v-8

The Royal Purple that is API approved is not fully synthetic(it is a synthetic blend..and it still costs $5 a bottle). I am using Mobil 1 5W-30 now(4,500 miles on current oil)... Just bought some Pennzoil "synthetic"(even though it really ain't) 5W-30 since it was on sale and will be using it for the next oil change.

Currently using Mobil 1 5W30, at last oil change, I let it go to like 5400 miles. Didn't like how the oil looked when it came out, as I drive my car hard. I will be changing my oil at around 4000-4500 miles next time.
