Hello all,
In recent weeks i have been doing nothing in my spare time but trying to find ways to dress up the engine bay of my Nismo. Through those couple of weeks i have found a set of hose lock clamps made by Pi-thon industries. If you may or may not know, this company has been out of business for some time which is un fortunate due to their sexy appeal.
Through the hunt of looking for these hose locks not only has it made me super jealous and super disappointed as i couldn't find any for sale, i found a thread mentioning ZeeToyz as having a couple left.
I emailed Terry at ZeeToyz to see if he had any left of any color or size and unfortunatly he does not. So i asked if he know's of anything similar and this was the response i got.
A company has picked up the PI-Thon line of hose clamps the only thing they need to reverse engineer the product . I hope to have a answer before the end of the year when they will be able to
make the items. I will keep your email in my file and let u know .
Sent from Terry at Zeetoyz Inc.
Where service is a priority
So the good news is, to all of those who love that look and are itching to find some, at some point hopefully within the new year there will be a company REISSUING the pi-thon look.
All i can say is i can't wait. and here are a few pic's if you aren't entirely sure of what i have been looking soo hard for.

Yeah, hard to find. I had trouble with getting mine to seal correctly. Why don't you just get earl's hose fitting?

A hell of a lot cheaper.

yea as far as i know, it's mainly for looks but i but i wouldn't doubt that they would be better then the stock hose clips that you see on all your hoses, being that they come with special wrenches to disconnect the hoses my guess is it would mean a stronger connection.
i have mainly researched into these as mainly a purely visual appeal. sorry i couldn't answer the question better, im sure there is someone out there that know's more then me ha

yea i found hose candy, looks like a breeze to install compared to these ha. the only thing i found about hose candy that is that your rad hose isn't the same sort of connector, it has a ring that you slide on the hose with heat shrink ontop of it, you heat up the heat shrink it shrinks and then you slide it onto your rad. Not to mention hose candy are also QUICK CONNECTS, NO WRENCHES NEEDED like the pi-thon setup, so in turn probably your quickest setup if you race you car and you need to do a fast swap of w/e under the hood and if you bought their largest kit of 36pcs i think it's $100 and my guess is it should be enough to do the whole engine bay, but i could be wrong :P.
i would say hose candy is probably also alot easier to install aswell, but for those who are interested in finding this style of hose locks, thought i would post up to tell everyone that there MIGHT be a company that will be re-branding or re-issuing this design or how ever you wanna say it ha.
Here's a link to Oomphlabs who supplies hose candy and some pics on their site

I've seen hose candy before too, but it's too small for the applications I'm looking for, and the color doesn't look as good in person as it does in the picture, unless you're getting the red ones

I had Pi-Thon clamps on my Z back in the day and what a PITA it was to work on the car with those things.
Edit: Found some old pics. Just looking at these clamps makes my skin crawl. They scratched easily when using the supplied wrenches and they were difficult to get torqued and a pain in the butt to remove. I don't think I would install these if I were sponsored by Pi-thon.

They are a terrible design, tough to even install and remove, and overall just a bad product. Not worth the time much less the money. They won't look pretty because you'll never get them all installed, and you will still have a lot of hoses that still have regular clamps.

Thanks for doing the research OP. I managed to snag a set years ago myself. Anodized red. As others have said, they are a PITA to install and I had to layer the wrenches with masking tape to keep them from scratching the locks. But IMO, worth the time and money...
