Default Will any harm come to my car if...

Will any harm come to my car if I drive it for about 20 seconds without a cone filter attached?

Here is my situation: I began installing my Injen intake, but I realized that I should probably just take the front bumper off to make it easier on myself. I can't do that from my current location. So everything is installed except for the lower hose and the filter. Will it be alright to move it about 15 feet out of my driveway or should i leave it where it is?

Thanks for the help.

Dan

Push it, dont start it. We removed all the plastic on the bottom and if you got a skinny arm you can put it on.

You can drive it. Nothing will happen. Race cars don't use air filters either. Now if you are going to drive it all around then I wouldn't. Just driving down the street will be just fine. Unless you live in the country and its windy.

Just be careful not to drive it around in a windy area with debris being blown around including dirt.

Then just install the filter on the end of the tube as a short ram and drive to your location to finish the CAI install.

Thanks for the help guys. I may just put a simple screen on it to be safe, but I doubt anything will happen. I live in a failry clean suburb of NYC.

350z_redline -

That was my first though, but the injen filter is too long to fit as a "RAM air" setup.

yea dont even worry about it... just make sure there is nothing loose that is gonna get sucked in there in the immediate area. hell my friend went over 1 whole year with no air filter whatsoever on his neon, complete open turbo.

Check engine light came on, but that's because I didn't have the MAF sensor installed. Car survived. Intake is now in, although I'm surprised at how tight the filter fits in there.
