Default transmission questions, please let me know if somethings wrong

hey guys, i pulled her out (2008 350z roadster) over the weekend weve been having amazing weather up here past couple days.

well before i stored it last year i got a new transmission put it under warranty original started grinding, well i have a few issues with the new one and not sure if to be concerned, clearly it concerns me, dealer said its normal maybe wait some for ti to break in?

my issues.

-when i slow down in gear, my tranny whines pretty damn load, almost like a jet engine as its lowing down, sounds like a bomb falling in an old video game, weeeeeeeeeee starts off loud fast winds down till it stops. was told this was normal but i dont remeber hearing it on my previous tranny

-shifting into 3rd and fourth, i feel teeth, i guess u could call it a tiny grind it does it more at certain rpms then others, was told this is normal? dont recall having this in my old tranny

-when i start up the car in neutral the morning and let it warm up, u can hear the whine around 2k

-i have chatter ive had it before i agree its normal

i guess i wanna know if any of u experience with these issues are they normal do they happen to you? and what u can advise me that i should do i still have warranty

thanks for any insight cheers guys/gals

how many miles are on this transmission? it does take some time for synchronizers to bed in if they, or the gear they are riding on, are new (thinking this could be the reason you can feel the "teeth" when shifting into 3/4 - though it is a long shot).

when you are slowing down, does it make this whining noise in every gear? the reason i ask is that in gears 1-5, power is still transmitted through 5th gear, but in gear 6, the power bypasses 5th gear. so if it only makes this noise in 1-5 but not in 6th it could be a problem with 5th gear (such as 5th gear on the input shaft being replaced but 5th gear on the counter shaft not being replaced, which I could see nissan doing if this were a rebuilt trans rather than an absolutely brand new transmission), but if it makes it in all 6 gears it might be a differential problem, or perhaps a bearing problem in the transmission.

does the whining noise when you start the car in the morning sound like the same noise as the whine you hear when slowing down? or is it a different noise?

to answer your question, no these symptoms are not normal. i have built a few 350z transmissions and have been inside close to 2000 transmissions in my days as a race transmission builder, and these noises are not normal.

-transmission has about 3k km on it, the teeth sensation makes me feel uneasy every time

-id have to check i know it does it 1st 2nd 3rd for sure

-yes it sounds the same, its gone when clutch depressed in

-damn, how do i explain its not normal to them lol

Your 3rd and 4th gears synchros are worn out, possibly worn out input shaft bearing too. Mine grinds in 3rd and a little bit in 4th also does a little bit of the whining noise too. Also it won't let me down shift to 3rd unless i rev-match AND double clutch. I plan on changing out the transmission eventually but it works for now and it doesn't bother me.

Your clutch pedal might be out of adjustment. Finicky little beasts they are.

that might be a possibility, my pedal has been popping when easing off of it, im supposed to go in for a new one, is there a procedure to setting them up, or somethign i should let them know? or is putting in a new require all the adjustments?

edit: do u mean clutch engagement adjustment? cause it seems to to be engaging fine
