Apexi smart accelerator for Z
Has anyone bought this? It's suppose to have seven settings and it's plug n play on your throttle. One of settings is for boost as it gives you a quicker reaction... Anyone? Reviews?

Sounds like that sprint booster thing... I think all of these things are likely gimmicks and not worth any money.
But, I'm not expert... just a noob + 8 months of reading this forum lol.

Heard of this product...have read a few ads.
I've never read a actual review.
Basically its a controller for drive by wire vehicles.
Has 7 modes.Needs a harness for installation.
Seems features of a tune would accomplish the
same results. It does have a ECO mode to get better mpg
by restricting the throttle.
Sort of contrary to why most guys mod their cars lol

its a foot speed-o-fizer
ie, it amkes your car react as if theres more pedal pressed down, for ppl used to a certain amount of pedal pressure-to-speed ratio, it will FEEL faster..
. 100% totally and completely mental and not physical.

Thats it. 100% totally and completely mental and not physical.

im going to settle this and try one. I found one hella cheap on ebay.. imagine that.
The Apexi has a faygle setting on it also, haha.. ie keeps ur foot oout of it.. w high bost single turbo, who knows, maybe itll be cool on the MPG/driving temperament... the good Lord KNOWS ive wasted 150 bucks on FAR FAR less..
so I am a somewhat impartial tester, hows that. Itd be cool if it did something, if it doesnt, Ill let you know haha. DOnt realy care much either way.

(BTW i cant believe no ones made fun at my signature yet. Its been weeks..lol.)
^^ this , totally. then thered be no issue w all this stuff.
they shouldnt market it as a performance part..its not, its a comfort ( enjoyment) part..
just changes pedal feel.. thats it.
is it the same as pushing the pedal down more? yes.
But for odd reasons, pushing the pedal down more sucks.. ive driven so many different cars over the last year, renting , borrowing, etc.. guttless 4 cyl Focus's, up to new Lexus, etc.. and i can tell you that pedal delay and pedal feel make a huge differnece in wether or not i felt like i was driving a piece of isht or not..
i foudn myself wondering in certain times how a company could market a car with such terrible delay as the new Malibu or the new Focus... the pedal delay is horriblew and stands out even more due to the fact that once the power IS on.. well, there isnt any.
Our cars have a bit more juice to dish out, but it still is that lack of movement at the expected moment of intertia ( as i like to call it) that makles driving in a rotary car w half the horsepower feel TEN times faster.. it grabs you in the seat miliseconds faster than a car like the 350z and then keeps you there, and the end result is a vastly faster feeling car.. wehether the 1/4 mile and 0-60 trap times diff or not ( which they wont btw) ... your brain WILL tell you youre faster.
I can go into the mechanisms the brain uses to deal with perception, the patterns and probabilities we assign to tasks etc.. but i aint writing an essay here.. just know that the idea behind these is sound. The Apexi allows you the opposuite as well.. ie, very gradual pedal, no matter what.
Id be a but scared using this in day to day driving as im concerned about getting out of the way of moving cars ( especially after my car wreck this weekend. ) but when im ahve the car up and running, as i said in my OP, ill tell it like it is.
If it sucks, im sure someone else will gladly buy it from me still. If its even marginal;ly cool, well, good enuff for me.
id gladly pay my 200 bucks to eliminate that.. and will enjoy it.
and that is why the ppl that buy them are happy w them.. they make it more enjoyable.. keep in mind that the RJM pedal bracket does NOTHING for 0-60 foot times, nothing for clutch engagement, but it makes the clutch pedal feel night and day better than the oem design, that thread is filled with nothing but raving reviews.. this part should be looked at the same way.
