The prices for used HRs are starting to be around the same price as used VQ35DEs. If it wasn't for the economy being soo bad the prices would be even lower.

We can do this for you. I already have the bottom end from a VR38DETT in stock. We were able to buy it brand new from Nissan. We have already figured out that the VQ37VHR heads will bolt right on to that bottom end. Then we use the Greddy TT kit and install it.
After that we need to acquire the VQ37VHR harness and ECU, upper plenum, lower plenum, and throttle bodies, etc... We can wire it up and make all the factory gauges work.
I know this for a fact because I purchased the VQ38 block for my 04 350Z and am building it as we speak!

"However I don’t recommend you run it for too long without changing the bearings. If you don’t want to change the bearings, make sure you pop the oil pan, clean out the oil pickup, and change oil every 1000 miles"
HAHA every 1000 miles daayyuummmmm

This may be a stupid question but if you take an 03 350z and drop in a non-DE engine (HR,VHR), wouldn't that also change the header/exhaust requirements? And if this is the case is the undercarriage mounting points and piping routes different too? I would guess that you'd need to make a custom exhaust or at least a y-pipe modification, yes? I'm suddenly interest in this as my 03 is nearing 100,000 and I just paid it off.
