I'm *very* interested in buying the 4.083 final drive upgrade, but I don't know the best place to get them, nor do I know if I need additional parts. Could someone help me out? Thanks!

 

Coming from someone who just bought and got those gears installed I can help you. I bought mine from z1motorsports. Get the post 04 set and the $269 installation kit. Makes it much easier. Find a transmission shoo that will do it. I called around and got prices from 1k to 450. I went with the 450 and it took 5 days. Not cause they didn't know what to do, but they needed a shim to push my pinion out more to bite the gear. They could not locate one anywhere so they made their own. You may get Lu ky and not need one but I did and it was a ****ikng ***** to track onr down. Good luck.

out of a old 300zx for $50 thats where i got mine but it has to be a n/a 300zx the rear gearing is different in the tt 300zx

I got mine from Z1 Motorsports along with the install kit. Only thing you might need is some different shims.

 

You can find better pricing then Z1..! I purchased mine from Andy when he still worked at www.mynismo.com I forget the name of the dealership in CA. Awesome prices vs Z1

Are the 4.083 gear and pinion the same for all years of 350z? If not how do you tell which one you have and which year it will work for? The reason I ask is that according to courtesy parts the pinion bearing appears to be different for 03-06 and 07+ z's.
