Default Rallitec Shifter

I had purchased a titanium shifter and had heard alot of disturbing feedback on the board by others who had installed the unit.

I am about four hours drive away from Dweeb. I called him to cancel my order citing some feedback on the board here. Dweeb offered to come to my home and install the unit, and if I didn't like it, he'd put back the stock unit. I was pleased with the shifter....about two months later the urethane bushing that dweeb had supplied had failed - it turned out that this was too soft....so I went to a local machine shop with both the stock and Rallitec shifter....they machined a new bushing out of the same plastic material used in the stock shifter, and the unit has been fine ever since.

I'd have to say that Dweeb did right by me, even though the original bushing failed. I saw Dweeb's Z car and he is first and foremost a Z enthusiast. I believe he was trying to fulfil a demand from other enthusiasts, and make a modest dollar. I would not expect dweeb to lose money on trying to provide us something we could not put together for ourselves. With any mods, it's a case of buyer beware - the bushing failure cost me a week of grief and $50 to fix, but I'm still grateful Dweeb put together my unit. Sure there is more harshness and vibration, but I expected that from the part, and from this car. For me it adds to the Z experience.

I'm sorry others didn't have the same luck.

this is what i have been saying from the beginning. dweeb's shifter is fine, as long as you use the OEM bushing and sleeve. solve's all the problems. i feel bad for dweeb getting all this bad press. the people with problems always speak up more than the ones without. in fact, i wish more people were like dweeb, and working so hard to add to our limited (but growing) aftermarket possibilities.

Thanks Dweeb.

Biggy, I wouldnt feel bad for Dweeb! He is the one who is/has put himself in this position. You should consider yourself lucky that you got what you paid for, that is, a very good well made product with, once you put in the new socket, no other problems!

I,on the other hand, and perhaps it's because I live half way round the world, feel that I have been totally ripped by this guy.

I paid $500 Oz for a product that doesnt perform how it was supposed to, Dweeb recognised this by offering me, and anyone else who had the same problem, a solution. A solution that in your case has worked. I would love to have his shifter in my car because as I have said all along (and you can read all my posts on the subject), the shifter is great! It shifts precisely and makes driving the car even more enjoyable EXCEPT for all the noise.

Now as I have explained elsewhere Dweeb has sent me, allegedly, three control sockets that have all gone missing. This is some HUGE coincidence, don't you think? No, me neither, the guy has never sent them. He has promised me tracking numbers and so on, all of which have never been forthcoming, he has just downright BS'd me and that is the thing that is most annoying.

He has never made any offer to refund or any other solution, he has taken the money and ran!

I am sick to death of hearing about all these people who "don't do this for their career", WTF is that about? If they make a product they should stand by it and do the right thing by the suckers who bought their product in good faith. They are happy enough to take the cash!!!!!!

It seems Dweeb is not that sort of person! And, how is it helping our "limited aftermarket" if someone comes along makes a run of 20 items and the majority have problems and then he dissapears?????

As I have said before I will be more than happy to detract any and all comments I have made about Dweeb and his morals if at least one of the three control sockets turns up at my house!

Biggy, like I said in the start don't feel sorry for Dweeb. He's got the cash and he's doing OK! It's all the other suckers you should be feeling sorry for.

As always

Default Dweeb

Given the above post I felt I should reply.

I bought the shifter from Dweeb in the first batch. When he learned about the noise problems he sent me the revised control socket quickly. He stood behind it 100%.

I am not sure why you never got one, but my experience with Dweeb is that he does care and he does stand behind his product.

I am not saying you are lying. I have no idea what happened in your case. But your personal attack on Dweeb's character does not match my experience with him.

Andy, I have absolutely no reason to lie about this issue. Believe me, I have tried very hard not to bring what I have said to this forum but Dweeb has left me no option. He is simply pretending the problem doesn't exist.

Like I said before you guys are lucky as you live in somewhat closer proximity to him than I do.

Fark, I'd even pay for another socket if someone could guarantee its delivery. I really want the shifter in my car, but I simply can't put up with all the noise it makes when you're WOT.

Look, there are always going to be people who have pleasant experiences with things, in my experience (which I want to
share for the sake of others) has been far from pleasant.

As always

EDIT - forgot to mention another thing. I even bought ($33oz) a control socket and tried to "make up"a fix myself but my Dremel skills weren't up to the challenge.
