Default Car Idleing rough

Since I got my car I have had a slight Hesitation at idle..like a slight misfire but no codes...I noticed with the procharger It is more pronounced and fells like it wants to stall sometimes...Car runs very strong otherwise..Just concearns me and hope I dont have any internal damage from N2O or FI....What are some of the things I should look at first in regards to the rough Idle???

Let me help you here - I had the exact same thing and it scared the **** out of me. I thought man! - 27K miles and the car is already in the sewer?! So, I changed the spark plugs - and that's it !!! Runs like it did at 1000 miles!!!

This should be your first try!!! I don't have FI or NOS but I DO run my car REALLY hard. Especially with NOS, you are runnign a veyr good chance of wearing your plugs. The platinums are not designed for extreme temps/loads - only for longevity. So pay $7 a plug and get the NGK iridiums (1 step colder ones - with a "6" in teh model number instead of the "5" - Son't worry - the shop manual specifies these 1 step colder ones)

Gurgen

BTW: got mine at clubplug.net

Default Rough Idle

DaKing350:

The rough idle from the very beginning, before the mods, is interesting. Maybe it is the plugs, and certainly I would check there first like Gurgen suggested. What, if I might ask, is your idle rpm? Mine is 620 with the procharger, and it just hums happily along even though that is at the lower end of the range. Have you tickled your idle set up a bit to say 650 to see if that helps? Have you any reason to believe you might have something in your fuel line or injectors? Any problem from time to time with moisture in the tank?

The idle is around625-650..Fuel pressure is steady at 51 psi..Plugs are the NGK 1 step colder plugs gapped to around.039..No vacume leaks..When I put the AC on its much better..I think I have a coil problem or my idle is too low..And its NOT KABOOM...As I ran rich from the begining of getting the procharger and its not running THAT rough..But thank you for the words of encouragement..

I'd have to see it to know for sure, but most of the VQ's idle like this...a V series engine is not the smoothest out there by a long shot. if its better with the A/C, just have your dealer use the scane tool to bump it up to 750-800 rpm

Yeah I have heard that they idle rough..Its almost like a little *burp* at idle...It almost sounds like I have a Cam in the car...Weird..but it definitely is not as pronounced without the procharger hooked up..I gues the extra stain on the engine to spin the pulleys makes it worse..

My car runs a lil ruffer with the A/C off too, but I thought it was because i broke the car in with the A/C on all summer long. Think I should get he idle set a bit higher?

Have you tried resetting the ECU? There's instructions on Technosquare's website how to do it.
