Well, I now have 11k on my car. I noticed a winding noice when i'm cruisin 20 to 25 MPH. Just before that, I been having hard time shifting into 3rd gear. It ginnds as it engages into 3rd. I took it to Bankston Nissan In Lewisville, TX and they told me that I need a new tranny. It's scheduled to arrive this Thursday. I'm a bit nervous about this install. I know this is a known problem and some of you guys had your tranny replaced. Doing so, will this problem happen again? or Did Nissan sending out new and improved tranny?...

What is your opinion about this replacement?

 

I bought my car from Bankston Lewisville as well, and to my knowledge all Z owners on their 2nd tranny are satisfied. IMHO, I would not worry about it.
