People see no posts on a build thread and they automatically assume it means the car is sold or burned up.
If you're putting together a car it takes time. Whether in your garage or at a shop. Nothing is over-night.
Especially if you're going ***** deep like this build

I waited 10 months for the hood which had to be paid 100% upfront. I'm sure I am preaching to those who have similar experiences but for those who think it's a lot easier than it is, it can become a hassle. (Unless you have 100s of thousands laying around to just pay others to do everything/don't know how to do it and expedite everything). I will actually be in the garage all day Saturday working on the Z so I am hoping to keep the momentum going.
Waiting to order my seats but unfortunately they are still too new(car was sold in June/July) so Nissan still has no information on the seats here locally and claim they do not know when they will be able to tell me anything more.

The car was on the dyno the other day. I took a video, but it busted the cmos sensor on my phone right before it broke the dyno. Mike said he'd pay for the damages, and left shortly after... I'm pretty sure he's hiding from the internet to avoid the dyno owner finding him.
Smart move.

Life events are keeping from doing much. Need to find a new place to live, was knocked down for a bit but good now, and in the process of starting a business. I am hoping if that goes well then the car will come together as well as everything else. I never expected it to take this long but then again I didn't actually think I would get myself this deep into a car build.
I have stuff on order from Japan that as usual is taking forever. Ordered hood add ons for the Garage Mak hood, Garage Mak front and rear fenders, Garage Mak duck bill wing, and the Garage Mak GT wing they have on their demo/race car which isn't their standard option GT wing they offer. Apparently when I ordered it it was the first and only one outside of Garage Mak to be made. They'll make it if requested but don't advertise it. Still working toward it and haven't parted it out.
I picked up an 04 350z for a great price and used left over parts and bought RPF1 wrapped in RS3s for some fun in the mean time. I should have done this in the beginning instead of keeping myself from driving and having fun with cars for this long.

I know the drill. Life happens, especially with money, and health stuff going down, the last thing you give two fawks about is putting the car together, checking on orders, dragging builders to their jobs, and dragging the car to a shop to have your wallet emptied.
People only care about the end product. To them that's all your worth. What the car is at that point. But in reality, most of the lesson of a build is before the car is complete. That's where you learn more then you thought possible, both about the car and about yourself. That's what makes builds such a cool thing. Its a journey.
People who stick some bolt ons on the car in a weekend don't have that. Neither do those who just hand an open wallet to a shop to do the quickest, easiest solutions to get their end result.
Basically it's not about the car as much as it is the process and creating something more than just another car. Something you can be proud of. Something you spent not just money on, but effort to figure out exactly what you want out of the machine. You end up putting your soul into it, not just a bunch of parts.

My LS swap RX7 took 3.5 years. One I swapped the drivetrain out I only worked on it here or there. Didn't want to deal with the wiring and electronics so I put it off. Also, life happens and other things take up your time. The moment I started the car and took it for a drive I had the biggest grin on my face though. Glad OP is sticking with it.

if i do a swap i expect everything to be finished ideally 1 month. max 2 months period.
id rather keep my car stock or have all the money upfront for the swap.
a car sitting for years to finish the swap because of lack of money = like vin diesel would say what are they planning on doing? riding on hopes and dreams?
