Default Cometic Headgasket question

quick question, I am having to have my block deck milled down. I need to order the thicker head gaskets and I see the part on the page about the bore size advising to "order up"

Well i have stock bore so what size do i need? I just want to be sure I order the right thing. Thanks.

Edit: also, i only really need one side milled down, is it best to leave the other side the way it is or have it milled to match? and if it is left the way it is, what do i do about the headgaskets? Thanks

bump, no one has used these? are they accurate? Looks like i am going to have to go with the .051" size. and I found the answer to my second question, I will end up having both sides milled.

Given that the milling process is accurate, has anyone seen or thinks i will experience the timing chain rattle because it not being close enough to stock?

I'm not knowledgeable enough to be of help but I did read something about Dynosty switching to their own spec gasket because of probs with Cometic.

You may want to give them a call....

Good luck

thanks. i gave them a call and got some useful info. they think cometic may be fine for me, since im not boosted. that is where their issues came in. They also have some old cometics in stock that they can sell for a discounted price to get rid of.

I don't think you would have a problem with the chain rattling since it will get tightened by the tensioner. I would also like to know this for sure since I have a set of heads that have been machined and i will also have a block redecked.
