I just heard that i could burn my clutch if i keep my foot on the clutch while in gear at a stoplight? I do that all the time to avoid hearing the noise from the tranny.
It states in the owner's manual of your car to not hold the clutch pedal down for periods of time such as stoplights. Also, IIRC, throwout bearings can be worn down quicker when keeping the clutch disengaged for lengths of time.

Not sure if this will help OP but I'm training myself to only use the clutch when absolutely necessary. I've learned to take slow turns and drive in traffic without using the clutch, just by watching the rpms so I don't stall. While this is one measure to protect your transmission, the only reason I really do it is because I was tired of jerking back and forth. I never catch myself riding the clutch at stops.

I've never left the clutch pressed in while at lights, or even in traffic jams. Maybe I am just old school but I do recall that it can wear out the throwout bearing. I've got 123,000 on my original clutch so it works for me.
If it's in all the way, nothing is rubbing so nothing will burn up. Holding it down all the way for long periods of time can wear it out faster though. Every time you press the clutch, you are bending the little metal pieces that act is a spring. The more you push on them, the faster you wear them out. This is a long term thing though, since a clutch is designed to be pressed thousands and thousands of times.
It's best practice to not hold the clutch in more than 10 seconds. If you need it out of gear for longer put it in nuetral. Long periods of clutch-in will wear the throwout bearing and springs.
Noise? I have no noise in mine... Good fluid and a Good flywheel and it's quiet
Only thing you will do by holding it is wear the Release bearing quicker and possibly wear the thrust main bearings more than normal.
