Default Upper Oil Pan Conversion

Does anyone know if the Vq37 upper oil pan fits the vq35hr or vq35de blocks?

I bought a Vq40de engine which I have to make it front sump, and I need this upper pan but I dont know if it changes bolt pattern in these applications.

Thanks!

if you bought a VQ40 then why are you asking about if the upper pan fits a VQ35???
VQ37VHR and VQ35HR is the same upper oil pan... DE and Rev-up I know will not work with the VQ40, HR oil pan may "fit" but I am pretty sure the rear of the pan is very different since the VQ40 is really wide for the large transmission bellhousing

My question was if the upper oil pan of any front sumped VQ fits the Vq40, because I bought a Vq40 longblock for cheap for a project car, I found a Vq37 upper pan and I didnt want to buy it if it doesnt fit.

But as you have answered me, if *any* upper sump pans fit, it would be the vq35hr and vq37. Thats a risk I have to take.

As far as transmissions I have not bought any, so I would have to buy the HR transmission, if I use this pan..

Thank You!

You didn't read his response correctly. Half the bellhousing is on the block and the other half on the upper pan. That means if the bolt patterns for the transmission are different between a VQ35/37 and the VQ40 you will not be able to bolt a transmission to it. Not to say the upper pan won't bolt up though.
