Quamen I sense a very good fabrication business case on your end. You're skills as a fabricator are very known with proven products. It's almost time for....wait for it....

That's a good step. What tools would you need? What other machines? I.e.. cnc...etc.

You want a portable dyno?

If I did it I would pair up with Clocks Off Racing as he has the ying to my yang as far as skills and tools. CNC is the only thing.

I'm curious as well!? And you said 440 HP meaning you have the S65B44 engine (444HP)!? or the S65B40 engine (414HP)?

I'd sell the engine & trans out of the E92, which ever engine you have, then pick up a S54B32 engine out of a E46.

I too have to suggest quamen, esp following every phase of his car over the years, he has the skill to pull it off.

Would be a much easier swap and, in my opinion, they sound sexier when turbo'd compared to the VQ. Not a very cost effective swap like the VR6, though.

If it fits, the worst part would be the wiring ( I assume the SMG part will be a PITA) and possibly exhaust manifolds.

You could have Quaman just go ***** out and tube chassis the front of the Z....DO IT!!!

Great idea, hope you do it. 2 points/observations from my own plans to jump in the ...errr ...family of engines:

1) I would imagine a big head scratcher will be the oil sump/pan. The sump on the S65 is a big lump all the way to the back, exactly where you will run into the power steering rack and engine bracing/support. So you can cut it up, but will also need to relocate the oil level sensor on the bottom of it. Hey at least you don't have to deal with the two side oil pumps like the s85....hard to relocate.

2) Wiring should be fairly easy, get in touch with Neel a Apex Speed Tech. A pectel SQ6 will handle both vanos and drive by wire easily and he/Apex have experience building custom harnesses for these motors as well as their v10 cousins. If anyone remembers the Piper Motorsports v10 powered e30 M3 from yester-month...that was wired by Apex ...as was Michael Essa's S85 powered drift car.

If the motor squeezes in ,and the pan can be mangled to fit, everything else will be easy....meow don't be a ***** and go do it
