Default Just fitted grounding kit

I'v just finnished fitting my grounding kit,I bought the seven wire kit I have the auto, and bolted #7 to the side of the gearbox It supposedly shiftes smoother, I just took it out for a run and erm whats all the fuss about....I quite honestly couldnt tell any difference, my car idled pretty smooth before I fitted the kit so I couldnt tell any difference there, maybe there is a difference at higher speeds ( I was in traffic so I couldnt open her up ) as far as a smoother gear change......the jurys still out on that one.

There's a current minor debate on a sister Z forum about the benefits of the grounding kits. Most agree about the underhood aesthetics improvement, however, it's ~ 50/50 on the "perceived and dynoed" results. So far, inconclusive. IMHO, the improvements can't be measured with any certainty at the wheel on a standard dyno - too many uncontrolled variables. This forum tends to be more data driven so I'm open to hearing others thoughts.

I've had mine for about a year now, was one of the first mods I did. The idle did feel smoother after installation. Other than that, I noticed nothing else. BTW, it was the five wire Insaneamine kit on a 6MT. If I had it to do over again, I still would.

3mpg and how many miles were on the car at the time. could be explained by breaking the engine in, or even different driving style; possibly different in a subconcious way where you were trying to drive very smooth because of you wanted to feel the improvment of the grounding kit.

yeah, might be a bunch of psycho babble.

either way, I got mine as my first mod; home made. considered it a bonding session with my new car. a good hour or 2 on a job I could easily do myself with the car. if it helped in some way(that I really cant feel or notice) great. otherwise it just made the engine pretty and I had fun.

HAHA... I was kinda thinking the same thing... except my dollar figure was more like 20 bucks... i guess that's why I haven't gotten them yet....
