Default Resetting the Rev light

I just dropped a new battery into my 2004 350Z. I read the I would need to reset the desired rev numbers using the toggle switch to get the light to work again. I guess it automatically shuts off once the battery cables are disconnected. Factory setting is 6800 (I think) Anyway, after scrolling through the desired Rev settings on my Z and getting to the number I want, I am uncertain HOW to turn the light back on? I can get to the desired number...but what next? I have been attempting to set this while driving. Do I need to do this when not moving the car? Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I am lost here! Thanks for any help!

I don't think u have to do while car is in motion. I never care to look at mine bc too small and I have to pay attention to the road when I have the foot all the way down. I think its useless.

That's what I did? I must have de-activated it some way when I disconnected the battery. Oh well, no big deal.

Thanks anyway...
