Default 06 wiring harness with 03 motor?

So tried searching for info on this. It can't find much. Anyone done this before? I'm trying to use my 2006 wiring harness with a forged 03 de motor that I bought from a friend. I know I'm going to have 2 extra cam sensor plugs on the front but besides that anything else? I'm also using my 06 ecu cause it is the one that has the uprev license.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated, if not I guess i'll be the trailblazer on this one!

With UpRev is should be pretty easy. Just turn off the 2 sensors or possibly reflash to a DE ECU

Don't think that's going to be possible. Theres alot of differences between those years (o2 sensors for example), find an 03 ECU/harness and swap the license out.

05 is also DE that uses the newer 02 sensors. Check with someone that has more uprev experience, it should be possible.

I guess we'll see. As of right now my 06 harness is hooked to motor along with my 06 ecu which has the uprev license. I could use the 03 harness and ecu.

So it's possible to transfer uprev license from 06 ecu to 03?

edit: post is irrelevant i thought the op had a 03 car trying to swap in 06 ecu/harness

you have a few possibilities.

keep the 03 ecu in car and 03 harness, transfer the license from the 06 ecu and put the osiris license on the 03 ecu.

or swap the 06 engine harness and ecu in the car, ALONG with the factory widebands FTWWW and go from there. (thats what id do)

that way you gain factory widebands which make osiris tuning so much better.

as long as you can swap the 06 stuff in the car without major issues that's the way to go imo.

if your car is auto there might be issues, but if mt i can see it working pretty good. but i haven't tried it before. I have ran a 06 revup ecu in a 02 maxima though lolol

Ok, that sounds encouraging. But let me make sure we're on the same page... My 350z is an 06' model, and I put a built 03 motor in it and am trying to reuse my 06 ecu and harness. You're saying that's the route you would go right? And make use of the widebands that my 06 ecu has right? And yes it is a manual.

Thanks for the feedback, it helps a lot.

ohhh hah i guess i got carried away on what was going on.

so all you are changing is the motor , to a 03de. yeah should be no issues other then exhaust cam sensors and magnet retarders.

and oil temp sensor.

id sure but id hate to lose EVT.

{sigh of relief} That's what I was thinking, I'm in the process of putting the turbo kit and everything back on and would prolly have a coronary if I had to take everything back apart to swap out harness.

Just following this thing through to completion (hate how poster asks a question, eventually figures out issue, but never posts results for others to learn from).

So harness is pretty much all wired up and everything looks good from what I can tell. There are a total of 4 plugs it seems that I am not going to be using with the rev up harness hooked to my 03 motor.

Two in front for (variable cam sensors i think)

And two in the rear of engine too (not exactly sure what they are... hoping/thinking they are rear cam position sensors or something).

Gonna be going into storage to look at the heads from the revup motor that was in the car originally to see if there are two sensors connections on the back of the heads.

Other than that everything else plugged right up, just hoping that things won't be funky not using the 4 sensors but I know we can turn stuff on/off in osiris.

Yes the 2 extra in the back are cam sensors.
