Default 350z 5AT to 6MT

Hi guys, yes I know this topic has been on this forum before with some 18 year old wanting to swap his, but here's my deal. My grandmother purchased me this car and I CANNOT sell it and just buy a 6spd 350z. She's another mother to me and it would break her heart, never seen her so happy when she surprised me with it. Therefore I am seriously interesting in spending the money, or else I am just going to **** my parents off more by buying another 240sx and drift that.

I understand I will have to take time to source the parts from junkyards and spend about 3g for parts. *NOT GOING TO THE STEALERSHIP* So, I was wondering if there has been anyone that has successfully completed this swap and who did it for them.

Thanks so much, please don't **** on this thread. I have searched and have found one but it's very spotty and not clear.

Congrats on the Z!

Personally I went with trading an auto Z to a manual one but if you were to do the swap, you would probably save a huge bill on labour costs if you are mechanically inclined and can do the swap yourself

Good luck

Your grandmother purchased you a Z,free&clear...no strings attached.
You are not pleased because its a 5AT.Because you are 18 and a college
student/don't have the "time or space" to do a a 6MT swap,you don't know
what to do.You are prolly more concerned about what your friends
will say about driving a AT...
BOO,HOO.
Grow up.I think you are an ungrateful kid that like many nowadays, has
always gotten what they want. They throw a tantrum if they don't.
You a pretty much doing the same thing as you did when you were a
little kid except maybe not throwing yourself on the floor and crying.

Wouldn't you have to get a manual ecu? And if that is not needed to make it work wouldn't a manual trans throw a check engine light on a auto ecu? Big problem for states that require good obd2 check to pass inspection

The above post from Terra looks to address! Interesting

Look here. I clearly asked for a clear of **** talk thread, but you obviously cannot read. Be mature and respect the thread. I'm not 18, don't give a flying F what my friends think about my car. I drive for the fun of it, being one with the car like my old Sil80 I built.

I am not going to **** talk on you, not worth my time of day. However, just so you know, when I get shipped off in a couple of months, I'm an E4, I will not fight to protect your ****ing freedom. I'll let them rob an ungrateful **** of their liberty.

Hey dude, you posted a short time ago that your "parents" are buying you
a Z.But,you have to pay half. Now,your grandma is buying the car...?
Listen,in this house we don't care what college you are attending, what frat
you belong to,sports you play or military affiliation.
We talk cars.We talk Z's

Trade the Z for the same color Z, but 6MT. You might lose a couple thousand on a trade....but it will be SOOOO MUCH better for you in the long run.

Dont bother wasting your time on doing the swap, these are not Honda Civic's that you can just frankenstein a bunch of parts, add in a clutch pedal, and boom it works.

Just save yourself the time and headache and "Do it right" .... and that is by trading for a 6MT.

So this gives you the right to talk down to people because you went into the military? sit the fuuck down somewhere and gain some humility you assshole, you didnt get drafted, so you sound stupid.

Secondly, you are an ungrateful shiit to be tripping about AT over MT, your parents or grandparents got you a Z for FREE. How about you learn to drive because you sound like an 18 year old, worried about a transmission, you should be worrying about how to drive it, if i learned anything from silva owners they are all "drift yo!" and all under the age of 21 so they cant afford parts, nor can they drive worth a dog shiit.

Your best option:

Learn to drive.
Learn to drive car.
Learn to drive car on the track.
buy parts than.

If you need to change ur tranny afterwards because it hinders your ability than cool, otherwise if your DDing STFU and be grateful. Besides you live in LA, that AT will come in handy when the 105, 110, 405, 91, 60, 210, and 10 all become parking lots at 330 pm
