Default LS/Z wiring and turbo

Looking connect with people who have performed an LS swap or have an LS swapped engine. I'm pretty new to this and have run into a few small obstacles.

1. If I have retained my 350z body harness and ECU (I tossed the VQ motor and wiring harness attached to it) will I be able to wire the LS wiring harness attached to the engine directly to the 350 ECU? I'm sincerely not interested in having a standalone unit, its a LS and I presume this procedure has been performed enough that someone should make the wiring components for this to wriggle around the standalone. If someone does make the wiring solution, PLEASE point me in their direction.

2. For those that have gone the LS route already, looking to put a turbo on mine next year, after I graduate from school. Anyone have any suggestions on turbo? Running a 96mm throttle body and stock Caddy suv downpipes so Im unsure if a 76mm turbo is of any use? I'd ask the LS1tech people, but they just keep asking why I didnt purchase a GTO, Trans Am, Camaro, or Vette

When I was, briefly, looking at this, I was under the impression that a standalone was the only way of getting it to work.

The only other option I could even think of would be to have some sort of dual ECU setup where the stock 350 would control all of the minor electrical functions of the car and then you would need another ECU for the LS motor you are running. In doing this you would still need some sort of way to turn off CELs in both of the ECUs. Either way, the standalone is going to the easiest way (possibly even cheaper than having both ECUs and working with them, and definitely less of a headache).

really,?

how about you get off your *** and search yourself. lazy kids these days....

if you cannot find a direct answer on this forum then look into how any oem ecu controlling a v6 can possibly control a v8.

mark my word. this kid will never have a turbo swapped ls 350z.

Looks like Cux350z burned his Pop-tart this morning... first off I asked because I clearly stated I dont know electrical anything is all black art/magic to me, so good job Captain ReRe for picking up on that. If I have the LS engine harness with ECU, I would like for the Nissan wiring to still be used and not tampered with, so where in all this did I ever mention using the Nissan ECU to run a GM platform? Oh I didn't, but props to you for pointing out a flaw in my statement because I did fail to mention I have the GM ECU. I appreciate your criticism.

- Hows it a dream thread? The car is sitting at home, the LS on a motor stand literally next to it, sikky swap on its way.... Now if I asked you how to swap a VK into a Z32, then I'd expect you to say "dream thread". Looks like your water break is over, run on back to your cubicle. Also, at 27, serving 5 years in the Air Force, I'm far from a kid. But dont worry its the Internet, I'm not taking you seriously. I also thank you for your criticism

OP is full of chit.

I want to see pics showing an LS next to his Z with verification.

Cannot wait to hear his next excuse....no camera, or when did he ever say that the LS was on a stand literally next to the Z....

Default Engine build pics

Hopefully I uploaded the pics correctly so the pictures sorta flow in timeline. First pic should be the engine sitting on a pallet. Pulled the heads off, bought LS3 heads, with a LS3 intake, which I painted blue with heat treatment, just to see how it works and looks. Swapped injectors to Z06 injectors, running stock fuel rail system. A lot of Comp Cams parts and accessories, ARP head bolts and cam bolts, etc etc.

Default Car pics

I keep an album on Facebook so I just transferred them over. Two of the pics are as the car usually sits. as there is no engine, it rolls out and around rather easily. Last pic is of my Z32(TT), where the engine was originally going to go in but lack of pre-fabbed engine/tranny/driveshaft application and aftermarket support made purchasing the 350 an easy decision.

The car was purchased from Travis Maser from Pennsylvania, who used to be a member on here. He had a built 2JZ-single turbo engine in it before he decided he wanted to move onto Jeeps. He pulled his 2JZ and placed the original motor back in it. NSN Motorsports of Uniontown, PA did the pulling of the VQ motor before I got it as a rolling shell as I didnt want it.

I know right.

It's like a bad church around here, if you don't fit in from the start, you get shunned.

Do some more reading baitzboy and hang around a while, someone will have some helpful insight for you eventually.

Its all good, they are making valid points. I don't take any of them seriously, its just a forum. If they can help, great. If not, no sleep is lost.

funny how two noobs who joined in the last 4 months want to act like they know this forum. when you guys have been on here longer and actually contribute unformation you will get tired of these noobs coming on here and wanting to be spoon fed the answer. they think their time is more valuable than yours and want you to do the work for them.

still no verification pic with ls next tocz, literally. i can upload pics of my ferrari collection too ya know!

also you want to apologize for getting your panties in a bunch when being called out about wiring the ls motor to the 350 ecu? guess youre gonna try to dodge that.

good luck on your swap, post pics when it is completed. suggest you read the forum more because there are several swap threads on here, even a turbo one.
