Default Do these ***** on VLSD serve any purpose?

Do the "*****" serve any purpose on the diff? Pulled my oem vlsd last week and one of the ***** was ate up from a ring gear bolt that got loose. Just wondering if it is okay to re-use / sell.

most likely just structural cast ridge in the metal cast mold that makes it...

i would at minimum if you choose to use it, blend the area smooth......do u have a pic of the damaged one?

no way to tell if it will hold up or not..

dosnt look too bad but as jason said its for structural reasons most people should be fine with it just make sure the buyer is aware. your gona have to push some major power for it to be a issue i would debur it though
