Default Help & opinions on engine rebuild

Hey guys I'm new to the forum thing, but I just quit playing drums professionally to get a solid job and get my dream car project started! Now I'm debating what would be the best route to take? To buy an older 350z with higher miles and purchase a stage 2 rebuilt motor or to buy a newer Z with the HR engine and just spend more money? I will be eventually throwing a twin turbo setup on the car but want a solid platform to work with... Maybe build the car up to or around 600 whp. I just want the setup to be as reliable as possible in case my daily driven '98 bmw takes a dump on me..

Any help or opinions will be greatly appreciated! Thanks for reading!!

I would go the HR route if I were planning just bolt ons.A DE will be cheaper which will make you total lower in money terms, but your probably going to have to thoroughly inspect the DE to see what needs to be replaced and updgraded for a 600hp turbo application.

There's no such thing as reliable with high HP... and there's a lot to do to a z to make 600whp . Period .

After doing a built motor with TT install......it was staggering how the cost added up.

If i had to do it over again, I would find a lower mileage DE and put a BP single on myself than have it tuned with Osiris. Keep Hp around 400 and enjoy.

Otherwise plan on spending $30K for professionaly built motor, twins, instal and tuning.
