Revup has variable exhaust timing, and a better oil pump. Nothing else worthwhile IMO. Oil pump you can put on a DE too... so the only thing it really has better than a DE is the exhaust cam timing IMO... and you wont notice this unless you're running some crazy good tune with a built motor at high RPM's IMO.

Dollar for Dollar, both engines really make just about the same power in the end. Initially, the revup's higher redline will make for nicer gearing though, and will work better with some of the more aggressive cams if you decide to install some, and keep the bottom end stock still.

if you install cams then the redline is going to be the same if its the same cams. the camshaft and springs are what determines rpms.

if you read more about rev ups, they have same duration cams as HR and slightly more lift.... there are a lot of changes on them....

they also have different opening and closing events and lobe centerlines which is just as important for rev range.
