Default 4.08 gears identify

Looking at purchasing 4.08 gears locally (ring and pinion). Is there anyway to confirm the seller has 4.08 gears by markings? I have seen them and counted the teeth on the pinion and ring.

If nobody chimes in, I'd try and get ahold of a vendor, like Z1, they will be able to tell you. I'm sure there is a certain number of teeth or markings somewhere..

yep should be 49 teeth on ring gear, and 12 teeth on pinion gear. my 4.08s did NOT have stampings anywhere. had to count the teeth.
