Default Has anybody EXPERIENCED ANY problems w/ the crank pulley?

Just as the subject states. Has anyone had any problems with their unorthodox crank pulley or pulley set? This is not to get into the debate of whether or not it will cause problems or hurt your engine over time, I don't want to hear theoretical bullsh!t, just real world answers and experiences. So... anyone had problems?

Default 8,000 miles and runs great

8,000 miles and runs great..............i once heard that of all the mods you can do, pulleys is one that you install and never think about again, basically meaning you won't have problems if there put on correctly, belt, torque, etc.

Default MAJOR PROBLEMS!!!

I've experienced MAJOR PROBLEMS with the UR crank pulley on my Z. DO NOT INSTALL IT!!

Unless you have hulk-like strength, the stock one is a b*tch to get off . Nope, no problems after ~8k miles.

I don't have them yet, but I've only ever heard theoreticals. I think SCC installed them on a turbocharged car and it wasn't dampened so it messed with the knock sensor.

Mine Works like a champ. Smooth as heck. Seems to have improved the smoothness during shifting gears as well.

Piece of advice when trying to remove the stock Crank Bolt:

1. Get an 18" breaker bar
2. If you have a floor jack, use the 3 foot extension that comes with it (mines an aluminum racing jack), and put the jack extension handle over the breaker bar.
3. Now that you have about a 4 foot total leaverage, pull as hard as humanly possible towards the passenger side.
4. Repeat item #3 above about 5-6 times (the crank will move). If lucky, the bolt breaks lose and the rest is downhill.

I HAVE ISSUES, and I am not joking.

Well, I don't know if I can attribute them to the pulley, buy I have experienced:
1. Tough to turn wheel when moving slow in a parking lot. May just be the wide tires.
2. When stopped at a light, my heater starts to put out luke warm air and not hot air. Then, when I start moving again, it goes back to hot. Again, not sure if it is the pulley or not.

The only thing that I can think of that would cause these issues is the pulley underdriving the water and power steering pumps. However, I am not certain yet, so take this with a grain of salt. I plan to swap back soon so I can do a side by side comparo.

And if you can, use an air-impact socket. I cracked my standard craftsman socket using the jack handle extension.

I was kinda thinking the same thing, but wasn't really going to say anything until I saw your post. I removed mine with one arm supporting the crow bar I had inserted into the flywheel or flexplate (5AT) and the other arm pulling on the breaker bar without any extensions. It was pretty tight but I really had no problems getting it off. I have also had no problems with my car and no issues with anything being underdriven.

Default Unorthodox Pullies

I have had them on many of my own cars over the years and have sold many without any problems.

LOL. Whatever..... I have seen you Fly by Z. And I can gaurantee you I can out lift you in the gym. Probably in better shape than most slugs my age.

When pulling the bar, the whole crank turns with the engine. Took a ton of force, and I end up turning the breaker bar a quarter turn, and the bolt still doesn't break lose.

For someone who didn't even do their install themselves you talk like an expert

Just in case any pansies question my err, ummm, ahhh, "stength", I'm a Gym Rat. Talk is cheap on the internet.

Hey you don't have to be dirty to know how to do something. Just to let you know, I help the guys on my car just plenty. I like to go there for the lift, the tools, and the liability. It's worth the price. Much cheaper than buying a ton of tools. My collection is next to pathetic.

Anyways, anytime you want to hit the gym I'm down. I live there too. Looks can be deceiving. I need a good spotter.

By the way, the guy that works on my car at the dealership is half MY size. Size doesn't equal strength. Mass is def. not my goal.
