Default Clutch slipping, or M/C failing?

I have read dozens of posts covering this topic to some degree. I have yet to find one that sounds the same as my issue.

When I am over feathering the clutch, or rev the engine to say 3000/3500 and feather it with out spinning the tires, then stop and do it again my clutch pedal stays low to floor board. It will slowly rise up. The clutch will not grab for a little while after this. It engages, but not firmly. (I have a tricky merge spot out by my parents house, its a blind turn up hill and then a stop sign, then merge again at freeway speeds)

My determination is: i over heat a (likely) worn clutch, it starts slipping and will not seat flat against the flywheel, causing the pedal to not return to normal height right away. After it cools it is back to normal.

My remedy will be a lightweight flywheel and clutch. Yes i know I will have additional noise.

Does this sound like a worn clutch? Id think if it were the master it wouldn't only be once the clutch gets hot, it would be more intermittent.

little help or confirmation please.

I'm hardly a clutch specialist, it's hard to understand your complete issue and diagnosing a problem from a few paragraphs isnt foolproof. but it sounds like a issue with your master cylinder or possibly your pressure plate. If your clutch equipment functions but your clutch is worn you'll see engine speeds out of proportions to vehicle speed. Eitherway you have an issue - if you're looking to upgrade your clutch/flywheel now would be the time.

If you looking for a replacement clutch/flywheel, consider the Jim Wolf Technology setup. It's a good balance of performance and drivability.

This test works well on hills too..
Try this and see what happens.

I wasn't even thinking pressure plate, that seems more like it to me. if one of the fingers is slightly bent or are just tired, the excess heat from the feathering would cause them to lose some of their spring... thus not letting the clutch fully engage and slipping it a lot.

mr. sparco, it only does it once its hot. i can lug the heck out of it and get no noticeable slip. i can power shift it and chirp tires. but when i do s upper slow clutch engagement i feel it "bounce" some as the disc engages the flywheel, making me think the flywheel is about done as well.

Thanks guys, im looking at the findanza flywheel and a exedy clutch. But may even go cheap with XTD flywheel.
I have been building a racing hondas for years, and have had great success with the XTD's flywheels. Low 12 sec N/A hondas.

And if I can save some coin here it gets me that much closer to the LSD i want.
