Default Vortech Version 3 Supercharger Maintanence

Hi guys,

I am new to this forum and wanted to buy a Vortech Version 3 supercharger for my 2005 350z (stick). It has about 60k miles on it.

All I really care about is the maintenance cost/time/damaging the motor. Those are my only concerns.

I have been calling different shops and getting different answers. Some say that there is no maintenance involved. Other shops say that I always have to get the tuning adjusted. I can't find anything on the owners manual:

http://www.vortechsuperchargers.com/...s/4NZ218im.pdf

Do you guys know have had any experience with this? How much work/money is involved in keeping up the maintenance on it? Does it damage your motor in the long run ( I plan on keeping my car until it has about 150k miles or so)

Thanks for your help.

Huck

I dont own one, but from what I have read, it all depends on your driving....
V3 is self lube so the lube has to be swapped out ever 3k miles i think?

So outside of making sure the belts are in good condition and you dont rage on the car too hard, too often, I would say its pretty safe.

There are alot of threads on SC builds on here so I would read up...

i changed the V3 blower oil when i changed the motor oil. there is no moer maintenance than normal, but that is 100% dependent on the installation and the tuning.

It could blow up your motor after 10 mins or it could go 150k miles. You need to do you homework and have all the work done right

Thanks for your responses guys.

I have read that as well. Installation, tuning, and driving are the main factors on how it performs/ reliable it is.

I heard that it's a REALLY NICE/FUN/ SUPER FAST kit, but I like to rev up my rpms a lot and drive my car really hard so I guess I am going to hold off on it.

It will be too hard to have all that power and not push it all of the time. I am just going to get a short shifter for now.

I guess it's a risk I am not going to take because I got 99 problems, but a Z ain't one.

150K? why lol? By then the supercharger will probably have left the motor compressionless... Even with a rich conservative tune boost and high compression is not a good combo. If your going to invest any money in the car I hope you understand you will only get not even half out of it even if you part it out and less if you leave it on and sell it...so think real hard before you drop the dough...

Maintence I thought was changing the oil on a regular basis and make sure belt is in good shape
