Basic mods for hp gains. Nooby question.
$10K is low-mid for everything. 4-5K won't even get you close.
I have no expectations on gains. Enough to be ableto tell a difference would suffice.
I have a few thousand laying around I could use. Not 10k. It would take me 5-7 months to put 10k away.
If there something worthwhile for just a few hundred that would give me a noticeble boost that'd probably tide me over and help me decide if/when I came up with enough for fi.
Or some upgrades i'd eventually need for a fi setup.

Explain? I have a checkings account and a savings account. I have enough in my savings to do the fi but that's in my savings for a reason. I have a few thousand in my checkings I can do what I please with at the moment.
I never understood the fulfillment regulars on forums get for mocking others. Very strange. Maybe lacking in other places in life. Maybe just personal problems....i dunno. I've never seen people treat other people as they do online in person. If you have nothing better to say or add let the thread die lol...
Anyways but yeah money management my friend...or atleast I try lol. I made this thread being a good bit off on total price (5k vs 10k). I'm a little more turned off on going all out with a fi now at that price but i'm still thinking about it. Like I said I just want to try some minor worthwhile upgrades for the time being.

To the ones that say "YOU HAVE TO PAY SOMEONE ELSE FOR THE INSTALL" on FI kits, Gtfo... If you can read instructions you can install a turbo/supercharger. That's what the so called "professionals" do whenever they install the same stuff. Why waste $1k+ and have your car gone for weeks when you can do it yourself on a weekend?

What shop will do a full FI build for $1K? Reputable shops (ie. Vinny's) do a lot more than just "read an instruction manual."
I'm not saying it can't be done, but FI builds are not for people who have never turned a wrench before.

I agree^. Nothing comes cheap with these cars.....if you want it to be halfway reliable.
If reading a "dreamer thread" bothers someone then maybe that someone should stop reading it and get a life.
To you seanrector, the only "dream" you have right now is cost. It's going to cost you close to 10k just for the parts and tuning.....and that's just using your stock block and heads at about 8 psi tops.

You guys must not read full post. I said INSTALLATION, not full blown kits. The instructions that comes with the kits that are already made. Just read it and install it...
travlee9374, Dreamer I think not as I went FI on another platform. I know the cost of things but I just do it myself so if my car does break I'am not on the forums bitching about the shop that put it together. $3500 to wire it in? If you know how to read a wiring diagram/schematic you can wire it yourself and save that cash.

Anyone can just throw a turbo and piggyback on a stock Z too, but the list to do it right goes on and on. How about a clutch, intake, exhaust, proper tuning with a proper ecu or piggy, catch can, injectors, fuel pump, plugs, tires, wheels and/or suspension mods....and that's only with using your stock engine. Installation will also cost you a mint if you don't do it yourself.
I'm all for modding, but when I'm ready, it'll be with a car that already came turbocharged from the factory.

LOL @ LS swap is as easy as following a wiring diagram. You're a goof.
To name a few things.

If you don't have the experience, you could end up spending WAY more than just taking it to a shop in the first place.
...oh wait, just follow the instructions like Grim said; it's easy...
1st mod should be a new Kanuter Valve- 25+ whp easily
2nd mod- Flux Capaciter- good for over 88mph
3rd should def be stickers..... lots of stickers... each one adds 5+ whp
swap out your auto trans for a Chevy turbo 350 trans and add a shiftkit (sweet)
BEST MOD: use the search function on this forum douche

I thought the "kanuter valve" part was pretty danm funny...

I could see you typing it into a google search.....
Why not??? That's all they did on "the dukes of hazzard"
Which is why I said $1k(+) for turbo/supercharger installs. So you sir did not read the entire post. Idk how much they charge since I do my own installs. When I ordered my Vortech kit I read the instructions provided with the kit and installed it in my garage. Tuning is another story but I'am not talking about tuning, just installing the kit.

So when you installed your Vortech, how much did the tune run ya??? I don't think op is or was prepared to do all of the work himself so some of the members were just trying to give him REALISTIC figures, not some BS on how "simple" it is to do the install by reading the instructions. It's not that simple to just bolt on, fire up and go...... c'mon man, be helpful

There is more to a FI build than slapping on a turbo.
