Default help with injector fitment!!!

Ok so I have the cjm stage 1 and precision 525 injectors, I installed the injectors and the rails but the problem that im having is the rails sit to low on the injectors even with the spacers, so I can not connect the pigtails to the injectors due to not enough clearance! Please any help would be great!

Sounds like you need one of theses: http://www.frsport.com/Nissan-350Z-1...r_p_15698.html

I had to put one on my Z when I went with precision 1200 injectors.

thank you.....but i don't think that what's I need.....my problem is the fuel rail sits to low on the injector its self! The injector plugs is closer to the fuel rail then my stock ones so I can plug the pigtails on to the injectors because the rails almost touches the plugs! Like a need a spacer inside the injector hat.

Did you put spacer on the right side of injector?

the only spacers I received with the injectors are for the rails...they are just run of the mill rail spacers....do I need a spacer that actually touches the injector? And if so where should I look to buy them?

a picture would really help

your description is confusing the people here. Doesnt sound like you are talking about plenum clearance or the rail spacers.

The CJM rails re bulky compared to stock.

Here are mine

Sorry everyone!!! I dont have a plenum clearance issue! My issue was I could not plug the injector plugs on to the injectors due to the space between the fuel rails and the injector terminals! But my issue has now been resolved thanks to Charles @ cj motorsports

Well I have two options....the first is too remove the fuel fail spacers im using now and get even taller ones "which Charles said he would get me or option two send my rials back to Charles and he will machine more of the chamfer on the injector plug side of the rails....im going to try the first option but the only issue with this option is I may run into rail/manifold clearance issues...then that means more parts! but o well! Lol

Just don't see how spacers will help. The injector plugs into the rail and manifold. the spacer just makes up the difference. so even a larger spacer won't affect where the injector head ends up in the fuel rail unless the fuel rail has a bunch of head space.

pics...They'll help alot.

Charles says they are 62+ mm bodies bigger then the larger 60mm aftermarket injectors hence my problems with spacers.... so when I got home today I worked on the spacing and such, so I am using 15mm of spacers and ground the under side of the intake manifold... I also removed the lower intake to place on the bench to make sure the plenums sit flat and tight! I will update more tomorrow when my new gaskets show up!!!!

so with the taller spacers, will the rail seal on the head and the injector seal in the lower manifold?

Yes, when I talked to Charles last he told me that when they designed these rails he wanted them to be able to expect 42mm injectors "stock length" and 60mm some after market injectors with minimal spacing needed, mine are 62mm, and how he explained it to me was....as long as the lower o-ring sits all the way down and tight to the lower plenum/head side. The top o-ring can be just barely in the rail and be fine as long as its straight and installed correctly....and double checked! Lol .....because you never have to worry about the injector sliding upwards due to the higher fuel pressure pushing the injector downwards.....so with the spacers im using and the manifold being ground a bit. I have the upper o-rings up in the rails 3-3.5mm's so I dont think ill have any issues but I wont know for sure until I finish the return kit and pressurize the system and check for leaks!

I meant to ask you....did you like your fuel gauge positioned like that? I turned mine more to the right because I read that stock pressure at idle should be around 51-52 psi......with the gauge perfectly upright the air bubble made it really hard to see to set? How does it work for you?

I don't love or hate that spot. With the cosworth I can look right down an alley and see the pressure.

are you saying you tilted the entire regulator or just the gauge some? my ocd wouldn't allow the entire regulator to tilt.

only the gauge, turning the regulator would drive my f-ing nuts!!!! Lol you can see in the pic I just tightened the gauge a quarter turn more so 50-60 psi range is easy to see!

I could also buy a 22.5° or a 45° elbow and tilt the gauge up!
