Default UR Pulley problem

I got the crank pulley installed today... but I am experiencing some major squealing in the lower gears and lower rpms. when I'm cruising at highway speeds the sound disappears. What could be the problem?

Sound like the belt isn't on tight enough.

any way I can adjust this myself without a jack? I got the pulley installed somewhat far away and I don't think I can make it out there for a while...

Just involves taking the plastic cover off the bottom, loosening the tensioner pulleys, tightening the tension bolts, and then retightening the pulleys back. Theres a tension bolt/pulley for both belts. I'd recommend driving the car up on some stacked 2x4's to give you enough elbow room to do this. I used ramps and it took me 10 minutes to do before doing my oilchange.

Do a search for the pulley installation instructions for help.

crank pulley stopped squealing after a long drive around... odd. Maybe they just needed to break in?

Did you buy the shorter belt? I did the whole 3 piece set and (crank, water pump, and alt). Stillen sells the shorter belt for $45 and I have had no problems at all after a month. Very smooth and quiet.
