Default VQ35HR swap trouble shooting. **NEED HELP ASAP PLEASE**

Hey everyone,

I have an 03 Z with a VQ35HR swap, i am having issues and hoping to find some help.

I went with ZFEVER for the harness conversion and NATS removal for "Plug and play" simplicity. ($1,950)

I have everything plugged in and bolted up, EXCEPT a single connector that i cant seem to find the purpose of. Its a 2 wire connector that is between the lower o2 sensors and the starter connector. below is an image of the wires location, i cant seem to find a better one online that shows what it leads to.

secondly, i have an issue with startup, it seems to start and run after the battery is reconnected. Will run for 10 seconds and then slowly hesitate and die off. Then wont restart, after multiple times doing this i realised its going into some type of "safe" mode and all the cluster lights come on and stay on even after the key is removed. Im assuming this is the cars theft fail safe kicking in? If so, isn't that what i paid to have removed ( "NATS")?

I even noticed it would disable the fuel pump and it will no longer prime after multiple tries.

Any help with this issue and connector location?

*Warning* I will be no help.

Just curious? What made you want to swap a hr in? It seems like a ls1 would be more cost efficient.

just my uneducated impression but most LS swaps seem to ME to run into issues.......how many are actually running with all necessary gauges working?

OP can you call the wiring harness company??....I would send them a pic with you pointing to the connector or photoshop and arrow into pic.....

I've thought about this swap and would like to do it as the HR responds well to bolt ons and a tune

Good luck!!! btw what wheels you running?

Kudos for doing this. I was seriously looking into doing the same with my 03 but I couldn't find a single case of documentation online with the ZFever harness. I hope you get it worked out and share more of your swap.

you paid Zfever alot of money so you need to call them. Noone but them knows what was done to the wiring harness and HR ECU.

I will write up a detailed thread soon concerning what is involved in an HR swap. In hindsight, i would have gone LSX, but for those looking to keep the "nissan" heart this is a worthwhile swap.

As far as my issue, the missing connector was for a "yaw control" that latter models had in the steering rack.

The ECU has been sent back to FeverRacing for diagnosis and reflash, it seems the ignition timing was set to 110*, which doesnt even seem possible. But i will update with the results.
