Default Vented catch can fluid looks like cherry koolaid

But does not taste like cherry koolaid. Really though, any ideas on why? Smells oily, 100% sure it has nothing to do with ps fluid, I'm 6mt so no trans fluid other than the dexVI in my power steering.
I use actual German castol 0w30, maybe the byproducts involved are more red with GC oil?

I have an 06 revup with no OC issues either. This is very weird to me haha. Any ideas on the reason for this bright red condensate?

I should mention I've let it settle for a few days, no layer separation either.

I use the same oil, to a Arc V1 can. mines brown. Oxidation in the catch can and reacting with the fluid maybe?

I'm assuming so. Especially since its mostly water based, I assumed the can was stainless though so idk why its rusting if that's the case.

Is yours vented though?

Nope, I think there's a single plate inside for baffling. No wool though. Also it's actually really light, I just pulled it off again to check the fluid today and it's lighter than I remember lol. Didn't have a magnet around to test for sure though.

Shouldn't be oxidation causing the red coloring though.

Do you live in a super humid place or have sucked in water?

Nope. Edmonton, our winter is dry and shitty and our summer is not warm enough (at least yet.. still snows sometimes lol) for any humid weather.

And I have no cold air intake sitting low, I was switching between the stock g35 revup airbox and the 350z revup box. the Z box is definitely not gonna suck up water, the G box might take a little rain through the hood but I doubt it would get past the filter anyway.

Me too! I'm more curious than I am concerned lol.

I actually think this could be it.. I don't use typical oil. Only a handful of people bother with GC that is actually made in germany, it's easy to get here but I know in a lot of places the 0w30 is "made in US" or "Made in Mexico" etc.. not true GC.

I swapped to 0w40 GC though which is kind of a shitty test assuming they use similar additives, but we'll see in a couple weeks!

It's not blowby, this is a vented system. Just condensed oil vapor/fumes and water. I guess the water could be a sign of minor blowby since its from combustion but this was over a long *** period of time.

Haha I will definitely keep this updated over the next couple months as I try things out!

^This.
That's such a bright, artificial red. It's not oxidation. Since it isn't settling, I'll guess it's ATF that someone put in

I can assure you it's not a prank. My car has a multi stage alarm, no one in my house knows anything about cars, and I have no enemies that have access to the engine bay lol. I do my own work so it's not a mechanic/tech problem. I'm pretty convinced it's the oil I use and if it turns red again, I'll swap to rotella or something dramatically different to confirm.

I am serious though, you can't even walk up to my car without a warning chirp. 3 feet proximity warning, reach in full alarm, shock sensor and full alarm if you're close enough (leaning on in without shock sensor activation).

My car is not tampered with evar
