Default Put stock air box back in and got...

A definate increase in midrange power Now keep in mind this is butt-dyno impressions only.

I took off my AEM CAI and put the stock air box back on because I don't feel like having to drive up on ramps and take an hour to clean my air filter anymore. I'm going to sell it and get the JWT just for ease of access.

I first noticed that the high RPMs seemed to struggle a bit more, which I expected. But there is a definate increase in the kick in the back thrust in the mid range. I didn't notice any real increase when I put the CAI on, so I was really surprised at the difference after removing it.

I have a question for you mech gurus. Trying to take off the strut bar, I rounded two bolt heads enough that I can't get a grip with my sockets. How can I get these bolts off now? Any special tools or techniques?

Thanks.

Are you using english sockets on a metric bolt? You should be using 14mm socket for the strut bar bolts. I would use a pair of vice grip plyers (sp?)

How much are you selling your AEM intake for?

Pretty typical of the CAIs... more top end for sacrifice of your low end.

A few CAIs here locally lost 5-6, one as much as 12!!!

Want low-mid... keep the box. Want top end? Buy the plenum!

I saw a tool the other day that has like knive edges inside that will grab rounded nuts or bolts. The problem is I can't remember where, I think it was a craftsman.

Keep the box and use a K&N drop in replacement filter, so you can keep the box but improve flow + hp.

i had the K&N , it was good , but i just got the JWT popcharger , i'm loving it , the sound and the power is sick , i might be the only one but i can defenetly feel the power its half of the price of AEM and Injen but i think it gives all around so much more

It would be nice if we could add mods without decreasing lowend power..

i guess i'm to excited about the popcharger , but i dont feel that much differance in loss on the low end , i feel increase all the way through the loudness comes around 4500k rpm and its worth every penny of buying the intake... lol , but i think if u dont have much to spend or if u dont want to spend too much $120 with heat shield isnt bad , cheapest and best mod for the price , but again , ur right about the low end , if u find something out , defenetly let me know about it!! lol

If I remember correctly, the dyno sheet I saw for the popcharger showed no decrease in the low end. That's the main reason I chose it over the other offerings. I certainly didn't feel any power loss either, of course that's totally subjective.
