Default Which Spark Plugs should I get...

My CEL came on tonight and I'm assuming I've come to the point where I need new plugs. I've always had a CAI, and I ran cat pipes for a long time. Now I run the Crawford plenum.

My car has a little trouble cold starting, and I assume the CEL came on from a random misfire (checking the code in the morning). So what should I do for plugs? Thanks.

Dan

Denso Iridiums seem to be popular around here.

I actually had a set to go in but I decided to stop modding the Z and sold the set.

you should nto need anything but standard temp, standrd issue plugs...something is definitely up, esp if you have trouble cold starting.

Random misfire is a lean condition most likely......I would definitely get the car datalogged ASAP

The FSM lists spark plugs under the possible causes of random misfires so I thought I'd try that first. I have to find out what the code really is, first.

My cold start problem is basically this: the car cranks for about 3 seconds before it turns over. What does that sound like to you?

Denso IKH16 is a good upgrade for N.A. engine. It cost around $11 - $12 each.

how often does it happen to you? happens to me once every couple days, not sure if it's normal, or something is wrong though.

The dealer said it was normal, so I don't know what else it could be aside from some caked up plugs. Maybe once every other day or so it happens.

Yea, checked and cleared the light. It was a random misfire. It is not really uncommon I guess, since I ran the tank to below E and I have the car running probably a little lean now anyway.

I'll change the plugs to be safe, and my next mod is a piggyback anyway. Thanks for all the advice. I'm going to go with the stock ones now as Z1 recommended, just to check if my cold start problem was the plugs, then I'm going to change out to the Denso's.
