Default Sikky 350z Winters Quick Change Rear End

Just wanted to let the 350Z and G35 community know we have been developing a high strength rear end solution for high horsepower track cars.

After flogging this setup all season on track in our Formula Drift 350z with no issues or breakage it is clear this setup is done the testing stage up to the 800 ftlbs of torque at the wheels range. Due to the nature of the drifting environment with violent shocking of the drivetrain it has held up extremely well.

We made two options, a spool or 1.5 way LSD configuration. With the ability to change the gear ratio in minutes to an almost infinitely adjustable selection of gears you can adjust shift points at the drag strip or road coarse in minutes. Massive 1.08" axles and 3.5" aluminum driveshaft will allow this setup to hold much larger HP/TQ numbers.

Diff is placed and positioned using the brackets then they are welded to the subframe after checking with our FARO arm to ensure absolutely perfect placement and alignment of the rear.

This kit utilizes the factory 350z subframe with a Winters Quick Change Differential. Being that this is a track setup you will not obtain ABS. We manufacture the mounting brackets you see pictured here. Everything is then assembled in-house and sent to you as a complete subframe swap-out.

With the Winters differential setup you can flip your gear sets. So basically every set of gears can be used in 2 ways. Factor in all the options of gears you can buy and the fact that they are each essentially 2 sets, it leaves the options pretty limitless for what you can do as far as gearing goes with these.

Does that help to clarify for you?

Not at all. How do you flip a gear set? You aren't talking using a pinion from a 3.3 and a ring gear from a 4.08 are you?

A quick change differential does not work like a standard ring and pinion diff. With this differential setup you'll find 2 gears riding on each other inside the pumpkin. These are the gears you can flip to configure them in different ways.

And actually to clarify my post above a little more, you can mix and match gears between different sets too. So if you purchase 2 sets of gears you can use all 4 gears in different ways.

Unfortunately, for many of us who do race the Z33, this would not be a legal rear end allowed by SCCA or NASA rules. Cost is another barrier, as there seem to be fewer and fewer 350Z owners who could actually afford such a setup. I'd guess the complete rear subframe setup with extra gears and shipping will be in excess of $5K, am I wrong?

Well, yes and no regarding your concerns with SCCA and NASA. I honestly can't sit here and say it'll be legal in this class but not in that class. There are just too many classes within SCCA and NASA to say it'll be totally legal or illegal. Each class has their own set of rules and this setup could be legal in the right class.

Our setup was designed around the Formula Drift rule book which does take influence from other motorsports. It is FD legal. In the Formula Drift circuit you almost have to have a quick change rear to be competitive.

We completely understand that this will be out of the price range for certain customers. But for those building like 800+hp drag cars, drift cars, etc etc this is the ultimate setup. If you find yourself in the unfortunate situation where your car is making too much power and destroying rear ends, this will solve that problem.

Unfortunate to be making TOO much power? That's not what I'd call it!

As far as which road racing classes this diff and rear end would be eligible in, it's not too difficult to figure out. In SCCA, ITE would allow just about everything and in NASA, Super Unlimited (SU) does about the same. Not sure about pro classes, but for the 350Z, there's not many that would require such a monster (and trick) diff. Hope you can sell a few!

Hahah key words being - "destroying rear ends" . I'd definitely say that our target market is more drag and drift customers. We definitely think there's potential road race customers out there as well but they will most likely be a smaller portion of our clientele for this setup.
