Default How to tell the differences in 350z diffs, without the car?

Is there a way to tell what type of 350z diff one is, without the car. Is it stamped on the pumpkin? If I remove the cover, will the final drive ratio be engraved or molded in the gear or somewhere? I plan on buying a VLSD, but the OP is unsure if its originally from an auto or a manual. I don't want an auto final drive. I tried google this but all I found was diff ratios with the model and trim level they come stock with. I know a stock manual is 3.5, and I believe a stock auto is 3.3.

Sum:
Can I look at a diff and find out what its final drive ratio is?

I'm 99% sure the pumpkin itself is the same between them. The gear ratios are different and if you're going from an open diff to VLSD the stub shafts are different.

I believe that's on the later chassis (370, G37) I've done many sets of diff bushings and only seen pics of the 3 bolt setup.

If you wanted to confirm the ratio, why couldn’t you just turn the input shaft and carefully count the number of turns of the axle shaft?
