Lightbulb How Far can u go with All motor setup?!!

I'm pretty sure FI will give you Instant boost right away. but u r takin the chance with reliability issue. So. Here is the question. How far(HP) can I go with All Motor setup without FI. In other word. Can I really reach 300RWHP with NA setup?!!!!

Sure you can reach 300whp with a NA setup. I forget who, but someone here pulled 280rwhp. How deep are your pockets?

Oh and remember, you can blow a N/A engine too. It's just easier to turn up the boost and blow your engine that way. I think if you have some discretion, FI is more rewarding for the loot.

you can go to 300, but not with bolt-ons.

Sure, 450rwps sounds do-able. But on pump gas? 91? I don't think 450 is do-able. So far, I think 11.5:1 compression is safe enough for pump gas, but with my buildup, I'm not expecting anywhere near 450. My goal is 300-330rwps. If I can get 350, even better. 450rwps would be possible on a all out race setup.

*Just my thoughts...

So how can u reach 300Rwhp safely?!!!! From my research, FI engine lasts bout 75000miles on average. I'm just wondering those people did the bottom end work done too,or just FI alone.....
I know I gotta have 11.5:1 forged piston for sure.
I/H/E, high flow cats, chip, cam, flywheel. dang, these bolts ons not cheap either.
so the bottom line is that WILL boosted all NA setup safer than FI?

If you're not running insane compression and you pick the right internals, then yea, N/A is going to be safer than FI, but you will still have detonation if you try for too high compression on street gas.

IIRC Mike in TN is right at 300RWHP with his ride, and if I'm not mistaken he did not go with higher compression pistons either (although I believe he did go 20 over, new rods, pistons and heads).
Hopefully he'll see this post and respond

You can solve any problem if you throw enough money at it. A good example would be this guy in Houston with a drag racer CRX. Its all motor and runs mid 11's. Of course it has a ton of work done to it, stuff like 15:1 compression pistons, 440 RC injectors. Im sure you can reach 300 rwhp NA, i bet you could hit 320 rwhp w/o uping compression and major internal work. It all starts out with the same old question, how much are you willing to spend?

What would you do to hit 320?

Mid 300s should be a cakewalk... with the right parts

Honestly, if you don't rev it pass stock cut the big dogs feel comforable with 268s using stock internals.

I can tell you a formula which should get you in the 320-330 range on a dj.

- Bolt-ons
- Crawford Plenum
- Crawford Cats or test-pipes
- Crawford header
- Borla, Nismo, etc. exhaust
- Flywheel

- Internal Motor
- 11.5 compression
- 268 Cams
- While you're in here, forge the internals

- AF Management
- i.e. TS, SAFC, etc.

These are the mods I would get to keep my Z reliable and streetable without building/changing the bottom end.
(not necessary in any order, with estimated cost)
1. cai - $220
2. headers $1100
3. high flow cat $400
4. dual exhaust $700
5. ecu flash $600
6. 268 cams $1050
7. plenum $400
8. pulley $350
9. flywheel $400

subtotal $5,220.00 (estimated, w/o shipping and labor cost)

after listing all these parts, they do add up close to force induction range.. maybe it's cheaper just get FI in the first place!
another alternate is to get nitrous, you can get 75 shot for $500 - $1000, depends on the accessories...

so all those mods would add up to how many RWHP??? Also I was told any stress other than the stock power will stress to the engine and tranny. 320RWHP is safe and reliable for stock motor?uhmmmmmm....
I need some dyno #. who has MOST mod done to the car and how many HP gained?

I'd like a 350 to 400 rwhp N/A Z I just wish it were attainable with ~$5000 (including labor )

Thumbs up Some R Close!!

Rspec - We've got a couple of members knocking on the 300 rwhp door! Take a look here - https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....0&pagenumber=1

I'm planning a pre-JWT cam dyno trip in the near future then perhaps adding the NISMO heads to go along with the cams. I'm like yourself in a way except that I want to take things as far as I can N/A & THEN add a small shot of nitrous!!
