Default Flywheel help

I am getting a new clutch but have some problems with flywheel. Problem is i do not know if i have oem dual mass or single mass, because previous owner said something about sport clutch. But i think i have single mass because there is weird chatter below 2k rpm and if car is in neutral you can hear chatter but when i push the clutch it disappears . So my question is there any other way to know if i already have single mass without removing transmission. Is it possilbe that chatter is coming from oem dual mass flywheel? I do not want to spend 500$ for flywheel and then find out i have single mass already installed. I know my question might seem stupid but i had to ask.
Thanks

you should change it anyway if youre in there as you can't resurface it anyway. I know mine gets chatter but only when the clutch is pressed, not at normal idle.

if it has a surface that can be changed you can do that. The sound could also be throwout bearing.

I'd buy a new flywheel just to be safe. If it's already got a single mass then return the new one or sell it or install the new one and sell the old one. If it doesn't then you aren't out the labor to r&r the trans twice and the downtime of getting a new flywheel shipped.

So to get a clear answer, can a dual mass flywheel be resurfaced. yes or no? because my tranny shop just charged me 200$ today to resurface it while replacing my clutch..

You can remove the plug in the alternate starter location on the drivers side and see the back of the flywheel.

When you pull the clutch you can assess the situation with the flywheel. Drive your other car while that one is down

bringing the car back into the shop last night the hanging exhaust got caught on the concrete lip and then through the bumper. also when they put it all back together the exhaust is bent and was completely touching the plastic bump.. but look at the left exhaust it like 4" over ..wtf!!! he wanted me to pay 1300 before he would discuss any repairs im like F no dude get your manager he said he was , then get your boss. the district manage said all repair will be taken care of tomorrow by a shop of my choice. I haven't paid any money as of yet but also left the car one more day locked up till we can get more pics and statements he said..

Smart choice. Never accept your vehicle by paying for services if they were not completed properly.

update: cars in muffler shop now getting repaired..
the cause- with the rear exhaust hanging down, they were bringing the car back into the shop at the end of the day and it caught the concrete lip where the garage door closes and jammed them back into the bumper.
