how do i find out what tranny version i have??????

Look at your build date and VIN. That is the only info that will tell you what transmission you have aside from visually inspecting the markings on the transmission if there even are any.

my Z was built 2/2003 what part of the VIN tells me about trannys???? does anyone know if there is a mark on the tranny???

also what would be a better clutch for the JWT flywheel.... NISMO or JWT???? anyone know how much these clutches cost???

Write the VIN down, along with the build date, call Nissan and find out when they modified the transmission. If you already got the JWT flywheel, why not keep it in the family? You'll learn quickly that Nismo is not the best at anything really, but all of the products they offer are solid and work well together.

Check there. Jeff and Jason carry both JWT and Nismo. I wouldn't imagine them being over $500.

I called nissan they really dont know... they tried to help me find out but was unable to find the info....

IF you have a build date that early you might have the second version. I belkieve n that they did some improvemnts to the 5/6 shift fork.
We used about 3 differnt versions last year. When we got the brand new tranny's it was in June.
