2006 350z rev up p1084 DIY
Hey all, new to the forum. threw a code P1084, did a search and found a lot of confusing information.People taking off their throttle bodies and intake manifolds.... Fixed it and thought id write my own DIY to help someone else.
2006 350z rev-up 126,884 miles
threw a "service engine soon" light.
car idles at 1,100 rpm
code P1084, "Exhaust valve timing position sensor"
part number to replace: 23731-6J90B ("straight" camshaft position sensor, driver side of motor)
tools needed: 10mm wrench.
elapsed time to fix 11 minutes, while drinking beer and smoking a cigg.
no need to take off your throttle body or intake manifold , jack the car up.... and you can see it from underneath. green plug.
1-unplug green plug
2-take out the bolt.
3-pull out sensor
4-replace and repeat in reverse order.
5- clear ECU memory. (do a search)
6- car idles at 600 rpm again.
