Question Automatic transmission filter change

Hey guys, it's time for me to change the automatic transmission oil, however I heard the filter is a non-serviceable part, so it doesn't need replacement, I searched but could not find any information to confirm this, is this true or will I need a specialty filter/part of sorts?

Thank you in advanced.

From what I understand it is a metal screen for large pieces so it doesn't need servicing like a true filter would. You should be able to drop the pan and see if it needs cleaning along with cleaning the magnet if the transmission has one.

Looks like you can get aftermarket ones if you want.

Might be able to find more information/pictures in the transgo DIY thread.
