Default Radiator fan does not shut off

Need some help. Replaced new radiator motor about 2 months ago and now it will not turn off and it is draining the battery.

Did this just start?

Have they've been working fine until now?

Were the parts aftermarket or factory?

Who installed the parts shop or buddy? Are you confident they were installed correctly?

Have you inspected the wiring to see if anything is crossed or shaved through the plastic coating and arching on something?

Yes, this happen on Sunday (last time car was driven) and I went out today to start it and the battery was dead, so I put jumper cables on it and as soon as I did the fan came on.
The parts were from Nissan and I installed them myself. Easy bolt on and plug in connector. Just inspected all the wires coming off both fans and all are good with no chaffing.

Well dude I assume you replaced them because they weren't coming on right? An overheat condition?

Anyways, I'd take the connectors off and inspect the pins and see if anything is out of place, trace all the wiring for chaffing. If nothing then take them out and bring it back to the dealership for a new one.

Power for the fans cones through three relays on the IPDM E/R. The wiring diagram is in the ec.pdf section of the Service Manual. Look under DTC P1217 ENGINE OVER TEMPERATURE. One of the relays may be stuck closed, providing continuous power to the fans.

^^^ this. If your wiring is intact and correct remove relays one at a time and see if your problem stops. You may be able to isolate a bad relay with this.
Post up when you solve it. Gl
