Default Clutch Sticking halfway up... after new SS line and Save replacement

Hey Guys, been a long time lurker and have gotten tons of info from the site which i totally appreciate and thank you all for.

Problem I'm having now:

Replaced the clutch a 2 months ago and just now decided to replace the slave cylinder and put in a SS line that came with the JWT Clutch set

reason i replaced the slave was because of the infamous sticking during hotter weather. it would come and go.

After replacing the slave and putting the SS Line in I can't get the pedal to come all the way up. i feel pressure from the halfway point all the way to the floor. When i release it stays halfway and i have to manually pull it up.

Have tried bleeding as Per the FSM for 2 hours and it seems to have helped but still cant get the pedal to come all the way back up.

Thanks for any help !!

While bleeding, fully compress the slave by hand while the bleeder is open. Do this a few times during the bleed sequence and you will be golden.

Thumbs up

I just got my Z a month ago and I'm having the exact issue (plus a slipping clutch). The clutch was replaced and in hotter weather the sticking persists. I cheched the slave fluid and it's filthy so I ordered an SS clutch line and I will report back this weekend after line is installed and fluid replaced with ATE amber DOT4.

I read several threads about this and some people say something about a type of return line under the dash near the pedal assembly needing work, and also read that someone simply greased the clutch pivot point and that fixed his.

We'll see!

Rebuild the master, and rebuild the slave while your doing it. The master is the problem, but you may as well do the slave while your at it

Thanks for the reply!

Update: Clutch fluid is replaced along with clutch SS line. After a day of driving the pedal no longer sticks. And it was 121 degrees 3 days ago, so trust me it passed the test

The only reason I didnt rebuild the slave and master was because the car has only 80k miles and thought it wouldn't need it.
