got my car back on the road... now this noise from clutch/trans
took a long time, but it's back on the road with my rebuild. got some miles on it yesterday and notice a tapping/knocking noise from the trans area at idle.
ATS twin disc (10k miles on the clutch). CD009 trans - this was a used trans I installed last year ~ 60k miles on it; never had issue with it over 2-3k miles i drove the car last season. We installed a new throwout bearing with this reinstall of the trans. Everything seems as it should for the 75 miles i drove it except for the noise. mechanic thought 'maybe' the throwout bearing wasn't fully disengaging so I attempted to adjust the clutch rod, which didn't have any affect on the noise.
having the car up on the hoist, it almost sounds like it is coming from middle of the trans. Our game plan is to pull the trans and investigate. wondering if anyone has any thoughts? sound can be heard/felt from inside the car. Not loud, but if you are sitting without the radio on, you definitely can hear it.
