Well Corbin is right, 7500 is 7500 to the motor doesn't matter what gear you are in as long as it is warmed up. It was designed to go there so as long as it's healthy it won't damage it. The revlimiter will keep it from going much above 7500, still fine for short periods of time, unless you miss shift.

Why do you think redline would change in first?

If you are worried about the transmission that would be a slightly more reasonable concern but I have never heard of a transmission breaking even in forced induction cases.

If you don't feel comfortable revving your engine that high don't do it. But the nissan engineers would have set a lower redline if it wasn't safe.

Not knowing a lot about high performance cars 7500 and the sound seemed like to much or a little excessive in first but like I said I'm new at owning one so I don't really know what's normal and what isn't. It's not like I like to rev it up all the time...I don't not even a little bit but sometimes I like to get down on it... up to around the speed limit and well...I've never ran to the redline on any car so I was just wondering about the limits and how far it can go safely within them.

I did get it up to 7500 in first today though and everything went well...nothing blew up and no animals were hurt. Probably won't do it again though...just feeling it out to see what it can do and how it feels and sounds near the limits. Normally I don't hear much about people running to the redline in first and I just wondered if it's done very often. Mine's a 2008 so it's not brand new but it seemed to do it ok. I will just need to get used to the sounds of high RPMs...it does have a nice growl to it...pretty sweet. Thanks Rancor.

Generally I usually stay away from most limits to give myself a little cushion and safety margin but wanted to see if it would do it and if it struggled or anything...to see how healthy it is so to speak...seemed ok to me.
