Hey everyone new to the forum had my 04 z for a few years got 80k miles on it and an auto trans.when I take off first shift is fine and second it shoots up to 5500 rpms and slams into gear then is fine. Hopefully trans isn't totally ****.any suggestions of what to do next would be great

 

I would change the fluid and see if the fluid is badly discolored first. If the fluid is dark in color and smells burnt u will probably have to change the tranny and have someone rebuild/check it out. Good luck

 

^^^ Agreed, easiest thing to do is make sure your trans fluid is up to level.
