with headers, test pipes, full cat-back exhaust, and an intake, I'm getting a little more than 19 mpg and my pedal is always on the floor.
It's a manual though, and usually MTX's get better gas milage than autos.
15.5 mpg IS NOT NORMAL on a stock car - I've heard thats about what I should be getting with the mods I have, but my gas milage is surprisingly pretty good.
I'd take it to the dealer - if its stock, there must be something wrong.

I go on long highway trips fairly frequently, and get ~27.5 mpg at 80 mph, tank after tank. It was about 1.5 less before I put the Amsoil in.
Around town is much worse, of course.

I get about 13-16 mpg city, and always 26 mpg on the highway. This is in NYC. In Orlando, I get at least 22 mpg city. I rarely drive the car hard, like it should be driven. I am sure it is the constant stop and go, 24/7.

See... the more I see posts start to pop up on this, the more I want to get my car looked at. My MPG use to be good.. with a mostly city and slight highway with my 6MT Track I would get 21..22 MPG, then at about.. 1,800 miles or so.. the car felt slow for afew days, then faster than it did originally. Once that happen my MPG dove to 16.4-7. right after I fuel up its up at like 27.. then it just slowly drops from there. all the way to 16.4-7 range. Ontop of that, I too have the indication of the car running rich via blackness @ the tips. My 88' Camaro (tuned port injected) did the same thing when it was running rich. Any ideas?

okay so i manually calculated...okay not manually but I let my tank go to "E" filled up 13 gallons and reset my mileage. After a week or so it went to "E" with the light! and it reads 258 miles which means I'm ACTUALLY getting around 19 mpg!~ so my tach is off? O_o
and I still have a little more gas then I had before. hmmm...i reset my tach*mileage* and it was high..then dropped to 15....then now it's at 19 .....<---not all of the sudden...during the week. I'm fairly agressive.

guys i don't think our little digital friend is accurate if you see my earlier post i filled 13 gallons when my tank was at "E" and reset my mileage back to zero. after a week i calculated and i'm averaging 19 miles per gallon driving very hard.
would my 19"s throw of my calculation of mileage/gallon off?
